A tyre-pressure gauge is generally about the size of a pencil, although types with a large dial are available. It measures pressures in either imperial or metric units, usually with a range of 6-50psi. Most gauges are fitted with a valve remover. A foot pump with a pressure gauge is more useful for measuring tyre pressures, as it enables you to adjust them at the same time. A foot pump can also be used for blowing dust from parts such as a paper-element filter.
